Before we started BooktIQ, we’ve worked on hundreds of books, magazines and other publications. Before we start on your book, we’ll spend some talking about your publishing goals, budget, and aspirations, and we’ll make sure our solution helps you reach them. We can offer our expert advice on timing your book, whether or not your manuscript is ready to publish, and the steps that you need to take when you publish your book to make sure your marketing and sales efforts pay off.

Basic Copy Edit

As a first step, we’ll carefully check your complete manuscript for errors: typos, spelling errors, grammar, and usage. Our professional copy editors will make sure that your writing style is consistent and clean. At the same time, we’ll prepare the text for page layout by inserting formatting the chapter breaks, headings, sidebars, boxes, captions, etc.  You’ll check the editors’ work and to accept or reject any recommended changes. For most books, the basic copy-edit takes about one week.

Print Design

Once the copy-edit is complete, we’ll create  matching Print and e-Book files for publication. Choose from any one of our professionally designed book templates and we’ll create a proof of your book within two working days. Our books are designed with readers in mind. Choose from dozens of trim sizes from pocket-size 4″ x 6″ to over-sized 9″ x 12″. For more customization, you may choose your own fonts or consult with one of our expert designers. Our print files are generated as print-ready PDFs ready to go to the offset or print-on-demand printer of your choice.

Cover Design

At the same time, we’ll create a basic professional cover design for your book. A basic design consists of just text or text plus one or two images that you give us. We’ll follow your personal or company guidelines for color, style and fonts if you offer them. Our talented network of graphic designers can design striking custom covers with unique illustrations or photography for an extra fee.

e-Books

At the same time we create your print book, an ePub file, ready to submit to all major e-book publishers is simultaneously created, which means your book is available in print and in e-book format on the same day.

. . . and XML and HTML too

With the same file, we’ll also create an HTML book file as well. This is great if you want to offer your book content on the web or as an online. It also means you’ll ready to publish in new e-book or app formats that have yet to become available. That means you can embed video clips, sound clips, animation, and simple programs into your books. We’ll archive your files in XML format, which means that updating them for any future format will be a breeze.
